Tenon

Privacy policy

Last updated 12 September 2026

Tenon is a one-person business in Hobart, Tasmania. This policy explains what I collect, why, how long I keep it, and how to get it removed. It's written to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What I collect when you enquire

When you fill in the form on this site, I collect your name, business name, phone number, suburb, optionally your email address and preferred call time, and what you tell me about the software or process you're using. I also record which advertisement or link brought you here, the page address, and the time you submitted.

I use this to work out whether I can help you and to contact you about your enquiry. Nothing else. I don't sell it, and I don't share it with anyone for marketing.

Where enquiries are stored

Form submissions pass through Netlify, which hosts this website, and through Make.com, which forwards the enquiry to my email. Both are overseas providers, which means your enquiry details are stored on servers outside Australia. If you'd rather not have your details go through a web form, ring me instead on 0426 465 844.

Advertising and the Meta pixel

This site uses the Meta (Facebook) pixel so I can measure whether my advertising is working. When you visit, it sends Meta your IP address, details about your browser and device, and which pages you looked at. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta may be able to connect that activity to you.

I use this only to see which ads produce enquiries. I don't upload your contact details to Meta.

You can limit this through your Meta account settings, through your browser's tracking protection, or by using an ad blocker. Declining doesn't change anything about how I deal with your enquiry.

How long I keep things

Client data inside software I build

If I build software for you, the data in it is yours. I access it only to build, fix or maintain the system. If you stop working with me, you take your data and your software with you. Nothing is held back.

Getting a copy, or getting it deleted

Ring 0426 465 844 or email tenontechnologies@gmail.com and ask. I'll tell you what I hold, correct anything wrong, or delete it, except where I'm legally required to keep it.

If you're not happy

Tell me first and I'll try to sort it. If that doesn't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
